Welcome!

This is my first attempt at blogging. I apologize if it's boring, but that's my life!

My Life as Michell

Hello and welcome to a blog about my life. There's not too much exciting, sorry. To bring you up to speed, I'm 35, I live with my parents in a suburb of Cleveland, OH. This is not exactly by choice, mind you. I love my parents very much, but living with them 24/7 is difficult at times. I am living at home because I have a medical condition that often requires help, doctor appointments, and medical treatment. Over the last 9 months I have found out that I had some sort of "vascular event" including losing more ends of my fingers, feeling in my feet, possibly strokes, and horrible headaches. We seem to have the headaches under control and my fingers have fallen off and healed, the feet are coming along ok, and the effects I have been attributing to the strokes seem to be healing or correcting themselves slowly. Sadly, I have had to go on an unpaid leave from my job, and ultimately quit it, due to all of this. I have no extra money coming in. The only money I have is what Social Security pays me for being disabled, thank goodness. At least I can pay (some) of my bills.

I also have a "yittel brudduh", Pat, who is engaged to the lovely Ann. Their wedding is this coming September, and should be a lot of fun and uniquely theirs.

So we are all gearing up for a week long family vacation in the Florida Keys starting Sunday. My folks are driving down with their friends, and were supposed to leave Friday - which I was much looking forward to - but are now leaving very early Saturday morning. At least I have 1.5 days on my own. One of the downfalls of living with my folks, and sometimes needing assistance to do everyday items, is that they tend to forget how old I really am and treat me like the 12 year old I look like. So I look forward to any little break I may get.

I'm hoping we can avoid fighting while we're gone. It can be difficult, especially when my dad has been drinking. He and my brother can both get belligerent when they drink and Pat and I both find it hard not to argue with him most times, drunk or not.

On another note, I'm hoping my brother will agree to go driving with me when we get back, while my parents are still gone. Since I've been ill my mom won't let me drive, and she promised I could come March 1. I can hear her now, why do you need to drive March 1 if you're not working? My answer: so I can go on interviews! Plus, I think it's supposed to warm up while we're gone so the snow will be gone, or nearly. That's me, always plotting!

So that's all I got for now. How bored are you? Like I said sorry . Keep checking back, I'm hoping to get more creative in the future!
